Rising at the foot of the Peckforton Hills, the River Weaver has meandered its way through Cheshire's rural and industrial landscape for centuries and the story of the river is interwoven with the history of the area, its people and industries and, in particular, with the production of salt. It was its lifeblood.
Water can seem mysterious and even threatening at times, It is also life giving and essential. Photographs of the river fix the water's liquidity, transforming it into a graphic surface that bears no relation to water, and yet reveals aspects of the river not visible to the naked eye. |
